Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.
[. . . ] Rating label (on underside of appliance) Important safety instructions Before the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any fitted attachment should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used. Before use, place the cooking plate onto the appliance, over the heating element. [. . . ] This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial
applications. In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. How to use your raclette grill Before first use - Remove any packing materials completely. - Before using your raclette grill for the first time, clean the cooking plate and the mini-pans with a damp cloth. - We recommend that you heat up the appliance for about 10 minutes, without any food on the plate or in the pans, to eliminate the `new' smell which may be emitted when it is first switched on. A small amount of smoke may also be noticeable, so ventilate the room during this procedure. - Before the food to be grilled is placed onto the cooking plate, the plate should be lightly greased with a small amount of oil specifically intended for frying, which may be safely heated to high temperatures. Temperature control - The variable thermostat controls the operating time of the heating element, with the indicator light showing its current operating state. Indicator light on = heating element on Indicator light off = heating element off - After use, return the thermostat to its lowest setting (·) and unplug the appliance from the mains supply. - For melting cheese and for grilling, the maximum setting (6) should be used. Simply to keep food warm, the thermostat should be adjusted to a lower
5
setting. Operation - Insert the plug into a suitable outlet and turn the thermostat control to its maximum setting (6). Let the appliance preheat for about 10 minutes to reach the temperature necessary for melting cheese and for grilling. - Put the raclette cheese into the minipans, then put them into the appliance, underneath the heating element, and leave them until the cheese has melted. Note: Do not place empty mini-pans in the appliance while it is switched on. - To prevent damage to the non-stick coating of the cooking plate and minipans, do not use any sharp or pointed objects when handling the food. - Once grilling is finished, turn the thermostat control to its minimum setting (·) and disconnect the appliance from the mains supply socket. How to prepare raclette cheese Use about 200 to 300 grammes of cheese per person. Cut the cheese into slices of about 3 to 5 mm thickness and put them into the mini-pans. [. . . ] Guarantee This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
